Note for:   Patrick Parke,   ABT 1700 -          Index

Individual Note:
Listed as one of the founding members of the Congregational Church in Voluntown. Also liste d were John and Robert Parke but while their names are grouped, Patrick's is not. As the chur ch adopted some of the Presbyterian liturgy, it was considered the first Presbyterian Churc h in CT.
Birthdate is a guestimate as he would probably have had to have been over 20 to have been con sidered a founding member.

Census:
     Date:   1850
     Place:   Bridgewater, Washtenaw, MI

Individual Note:
1840 Washtenaw Co., MI John Parks is living with wife and younger woman. John is listed as 7 0 to 80. Young woman is 15-20 [since John is shown as having $2000 in 1850, perhaps this youn g woman is a servant-- just a guess]. Also in Washetenaw Co. are John A Parks and Daniel Park s [Daniel is the older at 50-60], John A is 20-30]. The John A Parks does have an entry for 8 /21/1837 in the BLM and that indicates he was from Upper Canada. But, the 1850 census indicat es that he and his wife were born in NY [he abt 1812] - their oldest daughter was born in Can ada c. 1837]
