I have the Parke Families of Connecticut book that was previously owned by a descendant of Ch ristopher Parks. In it is a sheet sent to the original book owner by FS Parks correcting th e information on Christopher Parks. Since, to my knowledge, this corrected information is no t published elsewhere, I am copying what is on the now very fragile sheet.
'Sent to me by Frank S. Parks - author of book:
Correction for page 53 of the Parke Families of Connecticut'
63. BENJAMIN4 PARKS (Robert3, Samuel2, Robert1) was born at Stonington, Conn., Feb. 12, 1711 . Lived at Vluntown where he died in 1755. He married Mary Church at Stonington or Voluntow n Dec. 29, 1730. In his will, dated 18 Sept.1756 he mentioned Wife, not named; To son Benjami n Parke, Jr., five shillings; to my beloved son Christopher Parke, five shillings; to my wel l beloved sons Rufus Parke and Amaziah Parke all the lands belonging to me in said Voluntow n to be divided equally between them and to Rufus Parke the homestead lot if he lives to com e home and if not to Amaziah Parke; whoever has the home lot is to take care of their mother ; well beloved brother Joseph Parke to be Executer. This will was offered for probate at Plai nsfield Nov. 20, 1756, and 'disallowed,' probably because no provision was made for the gir l children, some of whom were very young. The estate was distributed 9 May 1757 and mentioned : Jemima, fourth daughter; Lydia, the youngest daughter; Christopher, 2nd son by deed had ha d his full share; Amaziah, the youngest son; Prudence, the 3d daughter, and Freelove. It wil l be noticed that Rufus is not mentioned. He had probably died. Both the will and distributio n are on file at the State Library in Hartford.

Christopher Parke 1735-1798, buried East Bloomfield, NY. ----------- The following edits were made to Christopher's son, Christopher Parke, also on p. 264:
Notes that Christopher's name changed to Parks; his wife, Rebecca Northon, died in 1809.
Ward (son) lived in Lockport, Ill.
Alonson (no notes about him)
J. Mansfield Parks is the correction to Joel M Parks' name; it also notes that he died in Loc kport, Ill., 5/30/1858 and that his wife, Bathsheba L Gooding died April 25th 1850 - age 51 y ears
Joel Mansfield Parks was born in Stockbridge [no note of state]
My great grandparents buried in Lockport, Ill.'
Note that yet another note on the inside cover pages indicates that Bathsheba's middle name m ight be Walker instead of the L above. Writing is difficult to read.
The following seems to note their children:
Maria - MacGregor [not sure if middle name or she married a MacGregor]
Garian d'A Parks - Judge of Joliet, Ill {first name may be only partially correct)
Clarinda M Parks married Norman L Hawley of Lockport, Ill.
A note indicates that these are the Hawley children:
Howard L Hawley Chales Hawley Elizabeth Hawley - married James George McBean
The following are given as McBean children
Le Roy Hawley McBean James Archibald McBean George Martin McBean (married Louis E. Blish) [note that it is George Martin McBean's book th at I own]
